Meet Kari Thompson, a dedicated and board-certified Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with expertise in play therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and special education. Kari completed her Bachelor of Science in Special Education from Eastern Illinois University in 2000, followed by her Master of Science in School Counseling in 2005. With additional certifications as a Registered Play Therapist and Supervisor, Autism Play Specialist, School Counselor, and Special Education Teacher, Kari brings a comprehensive understanding of behavioral issues in children and a specialized approach to addressing school-related challenges for children, adolescents, and teens. Joining Family Care Associates in August 2020, Kari has become an invaluable member of our counseling team, prioritizing the emotional well-being and development of her patients.
