Front Desk Receptionist

As a Front Desk Receptionist, you will be the first welcoming face of Family Care Associates, and will help check in guests and answer phones, take messages, etc.

SUMMARY This position is responsible for greeting patients, providing information, scheduling appointments and communicating with staff. DUTIES *Greets and registers patients in a polite, prompt and helpful manner. Provides any necessary instructions/directions. Informs appropriate department/persons of patient’s arrival. *Verifies and updates patient information in the computer, collects copays, provides any necessary forms needing completion, obtains signatures as necessary. *Maintains and updates current information on physician’s schedules ensuring that patients are scheduled properly and appointments are confirmed. *Oversees and maintains clean, orderly waiting area including reading materials, reports problems or irregularities. *Answers phone in a pleasant manner, screens calls and takes messages, provides information and deals with patient needs expeditiously. *Updates profile on all patients. *Supplements office staff as reception tasks permit by assisting with scanning, photocopying, computer input/typing and scheduling orders as directed. *Assists with preparation of agendas, materials, meetings, etc. *Schedule and confirm luncheons. *Check patient eligibility at noon each day using eCW. *Attends meetings as required. *May be required to perform other duties as requested by Management. QUALIFICATIONS *High School Diploma or equivalent required. *1 year previous experience working in customer service – preferably in a medical setting. *Experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office. *Comfortable working in a fast paced confidential medical environment. *Must be a team oriented individual with excellent written and verbal communication skills. *Knowledge of medical terminology. *Ability to meet and exceed deadlines on a regular basis. *Ability to type 50-60 wpm. *Sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; to travel to other locations using various modes of private and commercial transportation; and to verbally communicate to exchange information. *Ability to maintain working relationships and interact with patients and employees on a daily basis. SCHEDULING The regular work hours for this position are 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Overtime may be required as requested. The schedule is subject to change with patient demands.
