Influenza

Influenza is a viral infection that attacks your respiratory system- your nose, throat, and lungs. Influenza, commonly called the flu, is NOT the same as the stomach "flu" viruses that cause diarrhea and vomiting.

2019-2020 FCA Flu Clinic Schedule:

• Saturday September 28, 8am-10:30am
• Monday October 14, 7:20am-6:20pm (including lunch hour)
• Saturday October 26, 8am-10:30am
• Monday November 11, 7:20am-6:20pm (including lunch hour)
• Saturday, November 16, 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

Common signs and symptoms of the flu include:
• Fever over 100° F
• Aching muscles, especially in the back, arms, and legs
• Headache
• Dry cough
• Fatigue and weakness
• Nasal congestion

Vaccine Options:

Fluzone (Quadrivalent): Age 6 months-65 years of age

High Dose Fluzone: Age 65 years and older

It is important to note that your flu vaccine will only protect you from the "true flu"- Respiratory Influenza. It will not protect you from getting a stomach virus that causes diarrhea and vomiting.
