Influenza

Influenza is a viral infection that attacks your respiratory system- your nose, throat, and lungs. Influenza, commonly called the flu, is NOT the same as the stomach "flu" viruses that cause diarrhea and vomiting.

2018 FCA Flu Clinic Schedule:
• Saturday September 22, 8am-10:30am
• Monday October 8, 7:20am-6:20pm (including lunch hour)
• Friday October 19, 7:20am-4:20pm (including lunch hour)
• Saturday November 3, 8am-10:30am
• Monday November 12, 7:20am-6:20pm (including lunch hour)

Common signs and symptoms of the flu include:
• Fever over 100° F
• Aching muscles, especially in the back, arms, and legs
• Headache
• Dry cough
• Fatigue and weakness
• Nasal congesti

Vaccine Options:

Fluzone (Quadrivalent): Age 6 months-49 years of age

Flublok (Quadrivalent): Age 50-64 years

High Dose Fluzone: Age 65 years and older

Flumist: Age 2 years to 49 years

It is important to note that your flu vaccine will only protect you from the "true flu"- Respiratory Influenza. It will not protect you from getting a stomach virus that causes diarrhea and vomiting.
